Fat!? FAT?!

I watched as twitter went all kinds of crazy over Akash Ambani. The first thought that came to my mind was this quote

"“Is 'fat' really the worst thing a human being can be? Is 'fat' worse than 'vindictive', 'jealous', 'shallow', 'vain', 'boring' or 'cruel'? Not to me."

― J.K. Rowling

And really, this isn't how you should be judging people. All kinds of people walk this earth and you know what, it doesnt matter if you think they are beautiful or not. They are. I read a few horrible tweets, some of them were so vindictive and cruel,

1)" The Ambani feud comes to a conclusive end when Akash Ambani eats Anil."
Mumbai Indians prepare to launch Akash Ambani in response to RCB balloon.
3) You can't trend Akash Ambani .Twitter will get crash .
4) Akash Ambani is so fat that when he sat on his iPhone and it became iPad

You'd think that people would have a little bit of humanity. People, don't try to paint that "He is a rich kid, think of the millions that starve" picture. Don't even try to sell me all that crap with an equally tragic tale. Yes, I'm sad about those million kids who starve, I don't think making fun of Akash Ambani is some kind of karmic justice. I'm not buying that, You are clearly speaking from privilege, you are not obese (Which isn't even what Akash is). But lets go with the Obese , over eating kid logic of yours because your tiny brain cannot process that perhaps some bodily functions do get messed up. I'd like you to have the same sense of humor about your really fat mother. LOL. (See, not funny is it?)

If I found out that he was fixing matches, I'd be very angry. I'd even say he should probably be in jail.  But right now,  I'd really like to call bullshit on people who make fun of someone's weight, fat or thin. Under or overweight, You have no right, this isn't even a question about rights, this is about having basic sense of humanity. Nobody is telling you to be fat, well if you can somehow be thin, good for you (Or may be not, but since you are an asshole, I wouldn't care too much about your health) That is how angry I am.

Fat shaming is this collective effort of an entire group of individuals that come from privilege who pick on soft targets to shame that which  is not even in a person's control. To think that someone does not already know that they are fat or thin is to assume that people don't look at themselves and we know this isn't true. You really think people like to be fat? people like to be thin? We'd like to be healthy, we'd like to want to be in our skins without waking up each morning to be taller, thinner, fairer, slimmer. We all want to eat anything and not put on weight just so you can buy the size 28 jeans, or put on weight just so that dress would fit.  But you know our body is not made to our whims, no amount of sit ups, push ups or  bench presses will make our thyroid work better. No amount of medication will make the asthma disappear. Modern medicine comes with its side effects, while one will live a relatively comfortable life, one may not be 'society standard perfect' but may be that's just something you don't get.

Well, I really hope you don't have a kid who has asthma or a thyroid problem, because you sound like the person who would rather their kid stayed thin, so what if he/she suffered in silence? Right? No, trust me, you'd run pillar to post to ensure your kid was at least getting a fighting chance. And it  is nothing to be ashamed of either. But the way you pick on this kid, really begs the question - what are you so angry about? Obviously not just him being fat. If you are angry that he is rich, that he has a posh house he lives in, he gets to meet Sachin or anything like that  trust me, this is probably not his dream. All of it happens because his father is a millionaire, so you being brutal to this kid is not settling your score against his father. (Hell, you aren't in the same league. He could buy you and everything about you with his pocket change).

So stop; you are not making fun of someones "fatness"; You are making fun of an entire person, he comes with a body, mind and soul. He comes with dreams and aspirations. He comes with his own insecurities, his own understanding of his flaws, his issues. Each morning look at the things you try to make peace with. That strand of grey hair you try to hide, that tummy you try to tuck in after your pants feel tight, how you try to hide all those pimple marks on your face. Well, being fat is not that easy to hide. Stop making other people feel the need to hide themselves. They don't deserve you placing your hate on them.

Stop the hate! :)

So subtle, the whole world knows...

Dealing with problems people post on facebook is just awkward. X says "I am sad" 30 people ask what it is. With equal enthusiasm X posts back saying "Nothing, just...."  ahhhhh! Your best friends will patronize  be nice, supportive (why on a public forum instead of picking the damn phone and letting you cry your heart out, I don't know?)

People, you want to send a message to your Best friend, boyfriend or anyone, just do it. See, It is very simple why I don't ask people their personal problems, I really care about their sanity and privacy and seriously Facebook is NOT the place to discuss heartbreaks, I am severely against the idea that I should post all my heartaches on Facebook, very Dear Diary. But yes, I don't mind people who do it. Sorry I will not acknowledge your "why are people like this, when you trust them they back stab you" type message. I know the bitch who broke your trust and I know she deserves an earful, but seriously, I really think you shouldn't be so passive aggressive about it. Probably just give her the earful she needs. (Oh! wait you already did that!)

Trust me it is very awkward for people like us who know you and still don't want to be a part of this fight. It demands too much meddling and frankly, that is soo not why we signed up. I am sounding heartless here. But every time you post something mean about the person you had a falling out with, remember all the good times you had and do really need to insult those memories? You have 700 friends on Facebook, do they really need to know that you dumped your boyfriend? That your best friend sucks? Yes! lying, cheating or whatever, a person's privacy is important. You are putting out a statement and you expect your friends to line up with you and indulge in a little bashing?

I read your post, I just did. You very very subtle (or so you think) Hell no. You were louder than a blow horn! It was clear. When you put up 7 sad emoticons You sent a clear message, your status said 'I am angry with you and I am sad about what you said.' But seriously, wouldn't you do much better if you just tell the person that you were hurt. Your message is clearly crying out for attention, you don't want your 700 friends to ask you what happened, you want that one person to give you a call and apologize;  worse you don't want the call. You just want guilt, you want the world to judge that person. Don't you?  You want a public prosecution.

You don't want to explain it to people, because you suddenly think it is private, frankly you would do it, but you don't. Lucky the other person. But you wont stop at 'Ntg happ... :(' you want more, you are going on to say I am sad in soo many ways. You are going to go on a rampage, you are going to say 'Ntg happ.... well, just must never trust people', or some cryptic shit. Frankly! We ALL know who you were talking about, can you please be a little less mean? You make it look like you deserved to be lied to.

My point is not to insult you. Hell, I am all for PDA (Public Display of Anger) but I am also making a case for somebody you are 'taunting', you are putting out a message, you are creating a scene and nobody deserves to deal with it. You are ruining everything that can be salvaged. Please don't rant and rave about your fallout on Facebook, on the off chance that you realize that you love each other or want to be friends again, you are just making it very difficult.

PDA or Public Display of Affection I actually find adorable, Love should be celebrated. There is always the problem that the more people know about it, you are creating a bigger fall for yourself, but if you know you aren't falling out, EVER, you shouldn't worry, you you simply celebrate the wonderful emotion of friendship! If you do part ways, you have all these memories that make it an amazing thing, you are sending out an excellent emotion into the universe. And I believe that no matter how hollow it is perceived as, you know for that moment, you want the world to know you were over the moon! And if that isn't a good enough emotion to cling on to, I don't know what is!

Yes! I am THAT boring!

Dear People of this World,

I came to think of things about myself and I realize that by conventional standards I am boring. But I am sorry for not being extremely chatty, if I am not comfortable with you. Some days I don't talk, I am not less interested in you, I am less interested in talking to you at that very moment. I am not banning you from my space, just making myself unavailable. It is okay if you think that is weird. May be you think I am being thick and judgmental. I am not, I am trying to think. There are a lot of thoughts that go through my mind and I owe it to them that I think about them. I am not your social butterfly. Don't ever expect me to open up to you . If I don't do it at my pace, I don't do it at all.

I am a reader, Yes! everything about my life revolves around avoiding crowds and loud noises. I want my quiet time. I need to be with myself, to think for myself, to understand, to delve on my thoughts, to think it through. I don't mind it if you write me off as a boring person, atleast be kind enough to not say it to me.  Here is the problem with that. I don't take criticism lightly, I work on it, make sure that if there is a problem I address it. your problem is that I read and I cant do anything about it. So I suggest you do to. When you tell me I am boring because I read, I feel hurt that you do not see what I love. How can you expect me to be interested in all that you say, when you hate me? And by hate me, I mean my choice of books that has largely made me what I am today. I don't feel the need to explain to you that I read because it fills me with a joy, it lets me travel without leaving my house, lets me live lives I will never live, my reading is an escape into a world entirely my own. I get it if you don't understand my obsession but please be sensitive when you call somebody boring.

No, I dont enjoy partying, I don't go out to often either. I love sleeping in on Sunday afternoons, am I bad? Is something wrong with me? Please stop making me want to ask myself this! I am sorry you disapprove of my choices and I see how easy it is to judge me, but you can cut people some slack, can't you?

My life is a series of obsessions, from jigsaws to scrabble, from card games to tetris, I love my books and my music, I love to talk to myself more often than I talk to others. I enjoy coffee and chocolates. When you can accept me for this, why do you think I am less of a girl when I say I like roses on plants?

That is an appeal to be sensitive, while the world I know largely consists of people who accommodate me and my eccentricities, I know a lot of people like me who don't have access to a single person who would fully accept them. The world needs people who are not similar, but tolerant. People who may not be interested in something, but are willing to listen. The world really needs people to simply be open and non judgmental. To know that while someone talks, you are committed to understanding and not hearing. While this IS too much to ask. It is not difficult, it is not insane, infact it is what level headed individuals do. They listen and respond, not brand people as boring because we don't do the things they do. I am sorry world, but looks like we have a lot of time together and you can make me miserable and then see me become a better
person, or you can actively help me be feel accepted and truly wanted.

Love,
Just trying to be me!
