True Love Exists -Ask them dogs!

I call myself an animal lover, I always dream of a house that will have dog and a cat. I want to be a dog-cat mom. I don't think about a house without animals or without a library. Imagine a gigantic chair with a warm blanket at the foot and a nice dog that is lazying by the chair. Or imagine an evening stroll in the park with a faithful companion that tags along.

I've never owned a dog, not since I was old enough to know what owning a dog means. I get a lot of "how would you know what its like to own a dog" rubbish. I'll tell you why I know I love dogs and cats. I love them because I've never been treated like a non-owner by a dog. Every time I patted a dog, all I've received is pure unadulterated love.

I don't have a favouite breed of dogs and I love anything from a Labrador to a street dog. I love little puppies and gigantic could be passed off as horses dogs. I'm not saying I want a dog this year or even in the next two. But I want a dog. Some point in my life. I want to know that when there is no one, there is a companion.

When I speak of dogs, I have to talk about Diana, Diana is a beautiful lab that belongs the the owner of my apartment. Every evening when I come back from office or each morning as I head out to work, I see this glorious creature who yearns to be cuddled and patted on her back. I run my hands through her furry coat, she looks at me with utter adoration. But I think I have more to thank her for she makes me feel like a better human being.

Apart from it being totally awesome. I wanted to participate in the challenge because I need to see if I can write everyday from 2 months in a row. And this time I'm doing the whole commenting, posting, reading and writing as well! So this 2 AM writer will have very little sleep and mostly lots of coffee!

Cheers.

  10. I hope you get your wish! Dogs are wonderful, but you have to be totally committed. It's just like having a child, except dogs never grow up, but they do grow old and that's the sad part. ♥

  16. I'm waiting for the chance to have a dog myself ... we had dogs growing up, black labradors often and other big dogs (a St Bernard, a huksy/German shepherd mix, an Irish wolfhound mix). I miss them fiercely.

Stopping by on the A to Z! I look forward to seeing your other posts. (No coffee for me -- tea all the way -- but books for sure. India I have never been to.)

  17. Dogs are lovely! We have three cats, so wouldn't dare add a dog to the mix right now, but maybe someday. I hope you get YOUR dog someday! :)

  18. I'm "mom" to three dogs and three cats, at the present moment. How nice it is to hear that one of your dreams is to be a dog mom some day! It is a huge responsibility, and dedication -- a lifetime (of the animal) commitment. The rewards are indescribable. Every dog I've ever loved has a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing your thoughts :) WOOF!
